　　大家上午好！

　　今天在这里发言，向各位汇报一下我们初中英语教研组本学期的工作情况。

　　首先，感谢各位领导的关心和帮助，感谢李平英、赖玲、龚丽三位备课组长的支持，感谢初中英语组全体姐妹的凝心聚力。正是有了以上这些条件和基石，教研组工作才得以顺利地开展和推进。我们本学期的工作大致可以归纳为以下几个板块。

　　一、积极参与完成各级各类的工作任务。

　　中美学校交流活动，市优秀论文、课件比赛，高新区九年级英语复习研讨会、八年级教学研讨会，高新区英语微格课比赛等，组内老师积极参与，圆满完成任务并取得良好效果。每当有类似活动的时候，老师们都会主动地调课，尽量参加。八年级的教学研讨会，七年级的老师也主动去。微格课比赛，刘献慧老师参赛，陪赛的老师们早早地到达，占据最佳位置，录像、做笔记等。特别值得一提的是刘学真老师。她是我们组的“大姐”，是自贡市骨干教师，并已是高级职称，但她非常谦虚，对待工作仍然非常积极、主动，这让我备受鼓舞。

　　二、备课组同课异构活动

　　本学期，教研组公开课开课率达到100%。除张泽辉老师产假以外，其余老师全部参与公开课。以往的公开课都是老师们自己选内容来上，往往都会选自己擅长的，好上的部分。而且每个老师的内容不一样，相处几年，大家都熟悉了，似乎都对这种方式疲惫了。而本学期，开学之初，张主任要求教研组先自己上报公开课教师名单，我的第一反应是全体老师都上。但怎么上？如果乱七八糟，不成系统，大家也不会那么地重视，上了可能意义不大。想到之前参加了几次市级初中英语同课异构活动，感触颇深。所以就想尝试一下。九年级针对中考复习专题，八年级针对阅读课专题，七年级针对听说课专题开展了备课组的同课异构。备课组的老师集中在一个半天，上同一个内容，大家一下就重视起来了。最开头我还有点担心有的老师不接受，但事实证明我多虑了。我把这个想法和决定告诉老师们的时候，大家都很支持。特别是七年级和八年级，效果特别好。老师们从教学设计、课件制作、课堂组织都精心设计、打磨，有的老师提前把课件拿出来跟别的年级的老师讨论，有的老师在教案上写下了自己要说的每一句话，每一个环节的时间，完全就像对待市区级公开课那样。听课的老师也更认真了。听完课，大家都是马上提出意见和建议。这次的同课异构，让我眼前一亮。我自己学到了很多，也见证了老师们的进步和成长，看到了学生的变化。

　　三、两校区携手课题研究

　　课题研究一直是我们教研组的短板。目前为止，五年的时间，关于英语专业方面的课题，我们组只有两个市级微型课题（分获二等奖和三等奖）。一直想做课题，也知道课题研究和教育教学其实是互相促进的关系，是非常有利于教育教学的开展的，但苦于自身水平的限制，一直没有清晰的'思路。开学后不久的一天下午，我在办公室，鼓起勇气联系了教科所初中英语教研员刘老师，想向她寻求帮助和指导。没想到却意外争取到了一个省级子课题的机会。这让我十分欣喜。最终，在刘老师的指导下，我们和本部初中英语教研组一起开展了这个课题。从课题的具体选题、申报、确立、分工到开题报告的撰写，我们两校区教研组一起开会5次，大家都是摸着石头过河，查资料，网上培训，共享资源。每次开会前我的脑子都是蒙的，但开完会似乎一下就清醒了，思路就清晰了。看起来大家都不懂课题，但聚在一起过后，发现问题总能一个一个地解决。我想，不管这个子课题对于我们的职称有没有意义，有多大意义，至少，我们争取到了一个非常好的学习机会。相信通过这个课题，我们会在课题研究方面收获更多，对于以后其他课题的开展也非常有指导意义，同时，两校区老师们的凝聚力会更强。

　　以上就是本学期我们教研组的工作情况汇报。普普通通却实实在在。工作中也还有许多不足，老师们（包括我）仍有许多困惑。我觉得最大的困惑就是感觉时间不够，疲惫。其实本学期还有一些事情想做而没有做成。所以，如何更高效的解决教育教学的实际问题，让老师们解放出来，多点时间搞教研，以教研促教学，或者更好地把教学和教研融合起来，这将是我们下一步努力的方向。我们不知道实现这个目标要多久，但我们会一直努力前行。当然，我们也期望继续得到各位领导和同仁的指导和帮助。我的汇报到此结束，谢谢大家！

　　As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News， I visited Dr。 James Gilman， the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England。 In this picture， this is James， and this is me and we are looking at a dragon's tooth。 This is a true story。

　　65 years ago， James lived in Qingdao。 Then he was only 5 years old。 He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there， which he thought was a dragon。 He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure。

　　In the late 1930s， when the Japanese occupied Qingdao， his family had to leave。 On his last day in Qingdao， he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon's mouth。

　　He kept the tooth for the next 65 years， but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life。 It was always on his conscience， and the feeling intensified as he became older。 Finally he decided to put right his childish error。 In 20xx， he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies。 He received a warm welcome。

　　When James visited Qingdao， I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit。 I was deeply touched by his honesty。 It has taught me a lot。 I think to err is human。 The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one's error。

　　It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.

　　The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.

　　It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.

　　On the night of March 1, the 76th Annual Academy Awards was shown on television. After watching it, I had a dream, a sudden wish, that some day, I could receive an Oscar award, or a nomination, for a movie I've made.

　　While I was schooling in Australia, my friends from school and I received a n assignment one day, "To make a ten to twenty minute movie on the topic of your choice." At the time, the trend was based around the popular Matrix movie trilogy, so that became our obvious choice.

　　Because our schedule was very tight, and it was a first time experience, we found it all very hard work, but when we released our production at school, it was worth it. After my friends and I showed the movie, we could not get from one end of the school to the other without getting congratulated about five or six times. We, especially I, were proud. We made a school-wide sensation.

　　From then on, I became obsessed with how to make movies and how filming is done. I just wanted to know about everyone and everything that has something to do with movies. I would watch a movie four to five times, just to find out how one camera angle, or special effect was produced. I found everything I watched quite amazing. I sometimes admired directors and producers of these films because the techniques they use are so smart. Their cleverness inspired me to make and act in movies.

　　When I become little bit older, I would like to attend a movie academy in Beijing or Shanghai, then America, or England, after some training and experience, I would like to make a movie, which will most likely be an action movie, which is my favorite kind of movie to watch.. If I am lucky, I hope I would get an Oscar Award for this movie. I think that would be quite a challenge, but it’s not impossible. For now, it’s back to watching movies over and over again for me!

With the government’s intervention the businessmen will pay special attention to the pollution and dare not to ignore it. Protecting the environment needs everyone’s effort to ourselves and our offspring’s health we must take action to protect the environment. Stepping into the new century environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. Such as water pollution air pollution and noise pollution and so on. It seems that we live on a planet which is full of pollution. where all these pollution comes from? To a large extend the environmental destruction is the heavy price that we pay for the rapid development of economy and the growing population. In order to have more fuel people cut down trees and dig more corals. But the growing needs for energy are hardly to meet. Countless private cars on the street the gas stations are short of gasoline even the government has raise the price so many times in order to control the needs of gasoline but it’s still not working. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something. The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balancebetween the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way our earth could be a better place to live in.

　　To me March 28th was a lucky day. It was on that particular evening that I found myself at central stage, in the spotlight. Winning the 21st Century·Ericsson Cup Seventh National English Speaking Competition is a memory that I shall treasure and one that will surely stay. More important than winning the Cup is the friendship that has been established and developed among the contestants, and the chance to communicate offstage in addition to competing onstage. Also the competition helps boost public speaking in China, a skill hitherto undervalued. For me, though, the competition is a more personal experience. Habitually shy, I had been reluctant to take part in any such activities. Encouraged by my friends, however, I made a last-minute decision to give it a try. In the course of preparation I somehow rediscovered myself, a truer me. I found that, after all, I like communicating with other people; that exchanging views can be so much fun—and so much rewarding, both emotionally and intellectually; that public speaking is most effective when you are least guarded; and that it is essential to success in every walk of life.
